Tour Overview
Join acclaimed nature photographer Matt Cornish on an immersive journey through Tasmania’s most photogenic regions. Designed for photographers of all levels, this small-group experience combines expert guidance, carefully timed shoots, and access to diverse landscapes—from rugged coastlines and ancient rainforests to alpine wilderness and abundant wildlife, including Tasmanian devils and both Eastern and Spotted-tailed quolls (wildlife sightings are subject to conditions). With a strong focus on both in-field technique and creative development, this tour offers the time, space, and support to elevate your photography.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Hobart Arrival
Arrive in Hobart and settle into your centrally located hotel before meeting your fellow photographers. Enjoy a relaxed welcome dinner and briefing to kick off the journey ahead.
Day 2 – Bruny Island
Travel to Bruny Island, capturing sweeping coastal views, rugged landscapes, and iconic locations along the way. Stay at Bruny Island Escapes, perfectly positioned for wildlife encounters and golden light shooting opportunities.
Day 3 – Inala & Bruny Exploration
Spend the day at Inala Nature Tours, photographing Tasmania’s unique endemic birdlife and rich natural habitats. Return to Bruny Island Escapes for another evening surrounded by coastal wilderness.
Day 4 – Bruny to Mount Field
Return to the mainland and photograph expansive views from kunanyi / Mt Wellington before heading inland. Arrive at Mount Field Retreat, set on the edge of ancient forest and the gateway to Mount Field National Park.
Day 5 – Mount Field National Park
Immerse yourself in ancient rainforest, towering trees, and cascading waterfalls—ideal for long exposures and creative compositions. Spend a second night at Mount Field Retreat, allowing easy access to the park’s best locations.
Day 6 – Central Highlands
Head into Tasmania’s wild Central Highlands, where landscapes open into vast alpine plains. Settle into Thousand Lakes Lodge, a remote wilderness stay surrounded by unique highland scenery.
Day 7 – Central Highlands Workshop Day
A full day dedicated to refining your photography in this remote alpine environment. Continue your stay at Thousand Lakes Lodge, with time for workshops, wildlife encounters, and image review sessions.
Day 8 – Cradle Mountain
Travel to Cradle Mountain with scenic stops along the way before exploring this iconic alpine region. Check in to Cradle Mountain Hotel, nestled within the alpine landscape and close to key photography locations.
Day 9 – Cradle Mountain Exploration
Begin with a Dove Lake sunrise shoot before spending the day exploring the park’s most photogenic locations. Return to Cradle Mountain Hotel after a full day capturing wildlife and dramatic scenery.
Day 10 – Departure Day
Travel to Devonport with a final stop at the Tasmanian Arboretum for a chance to photograph platypus in the wild. The tour concludes in Devonport, with an optional return to Hobart.
