Bruny Island is made for adventure. This streamlined active day tour is designed for travellers who want to get outside, explore the island and experience its wild landscapes, with a focus on walking, hiking and nature.
The day combines short hikes, rainforest, beaches, lagoons and coastal scenery. At least one walk of approximately 1.5 hours is included, with the exact trail chosen based on weather, track conditions and the group. Walks may include sections of Fluted Cape, Cape Queen Elizabeth or the Grassy Point Track.
The pace is active but achievable, with opportunities to stretch your legs, spot wildlife and experience the island environment. You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable walking on uneven tracks and spending a good part of the day outdoors.
Approximate tour time: 7:15 am to 4:30 pm. Pickups start before 7:15 am from 10 streamlined pickup points throughout the Hobart CBD. The early departure is designed to get you onto Bruny Island efficiently and to minimise time spent waiting in the ferry queue.
This is an active sightseeing tour, so come prepared to get out and explore. Walks are generally short, with at least one walk of approximately 1.5 hours included, but you will be spending plenty of time outdoors and on your feet.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, swimmers, a towel, water, sunscreen and weather-appropriate clothing.

After an active day the pace slows down, with an opportunity to enjoy a cheese platter, local beer and cider, and fresh oysters, depending on availability and the day's itinerary.
