Travel from Hobart to Launceston through the heart of Tasmania, spending around 3.5 hours in Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. This one-way day tour is designed for travellers continuing north who want to experience Cradle Mountain without backtracking to Hobart.
Important information
Returning to Hobart
This tour finishes in Launceston and does not return to Hobart. A scheduled bus currently departs the Kinetic bus station in Launceston at approximately 6:10 pm and arrives in Hobart at approximately 9:00 pm. Book this separately in advance and recheck the operator timetable before travel.
If the tour is delayed, your guide may arrange a connection at Perth where practical. Connections cannot be guaranteed, so do not rely on a tight onward flight or other fixed departure.

Continue to Hobart the following day on A Day at Wineglass Bay - Launceston to Hobart. Book the two products separately.
Advise the team in advance if you are travelling with excess baggage and tell your guide where you are staying in Launceston.
Pickup times vary by hotel and begin before 7:00 am. Check your booking carefully and arrive early.
Cradle Mountain weather changes quickly. Bring warm layers, waterproof clothing, comfortable walking shoes, water and food for the day.
Walking options depend on time, weather, track conditions and individual fitness. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Spend approximately two hours at Dove Lake. Complete the circuit if time and conditions suit, or choose shorter walks for alpine views beneath Cradle Mountain.
Explore the Enchanted Forest, King Billy Pine and Pencil Pine Falls areas, with ancient trees, moss-covered rainforest and clear streams. Keep watch for wombats, wallabies and other native wildlife; sightings are not guaranteed.

The tour started with Maddy collecting us from near our accommodation and she made the tour perfect, from her wide knowledge of the different towns along the way to the plants and wild life we came across. An excellent tour guide.
Great Cradle Mountain Day Trip with Tassie Tours!

I joined the Hobart–Cradle Mountain–Launceston day tour with Tassie Tours and had an excellent experience. Our driver-guide was very professional and kind, driving over 10 hours and still keeping everyone comfortable. He shared great insights along the way and even drove the vehicle right into the national park, which was super convenient. Despite the cloudy and rainy weather, I still saw the beautiful Cradle Mountain and some cute wombats. A very worthwhile tour - highly recommend this company!

Excellent! Specially, our Tour Guide, Mark, was super friendly, helpful and managed the whole tour efficiently. He is knowledgeable person with lots of experiences & information. Mark also kept each and every person on the bus engaged with interacting with each one individually, throughout the tour. Instead of a boring hours-long tour, it became something where we learned while we enjoyed enormously. Kudos to Mark.
