Tour Itinerary:

7:00 AM – Depart Hobart:

Your journey begins bright and early with a departure from Hobart. After 1.5 hours, we stop for a break at Campbell Town, where you can stretch your legs, grab a coffee, and enjoy a light snack before continuing on.

Sheffield – The Town of Murals:

We will then head to the charming town of Sheffield, known for its vibrant murals that beautifully depict the area’s rich history and natural heritage. Take some time to wander the town's artistic streets, explore local galleries, and enjoy the creative atmosphere.

Cradle Mountain National Park:

Arriving at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, you’ll be ready to explore one of Tasmania’s most renowned national parks. Start with a visit to Dove Lake, where you have 2 hours to complete the scenic Dove Lake Circuit or choose from a variety of shorter walks to take in the stunning alpine scenery.

Enchanted Forest and King Billy Pine Walks:

Next, venture into the mystical Enchanted Forest and King Billy Pine Walks. These ancient, moss-covered forests are home to 4,000-year-old trees, crystal-clear streams, and abundant wildlife. Keep an eye out for wombats, wallabies, and the elusive Tasmanian Devil! Also, explore smaller walks like the Pencil Pine Falls or the historic Waldheim Chalet.

Arrive in Launceston:

From Cradle Mountain, enjoy a 2-hour scenic drive to Launceston, arriving around 6:00 PM. Your tour ends in Launceston, and hotel drop-off is available in the city’s CBD for your convenience. Add Launceston to Wineglass bay to Hobart the following day. Tour details HERE

Great day travelling to Cradle Mountain with Maddy

Mar 17, 2026

The tour started with Maddy collecting us from near our accommodation and she made the tour perfect, from her wide knowledge of the different towns along the way to the plants and wild life we came across. An excellent tour guide.

Great Cradle Mountain Day Trip with Tassie Tours!

Nov 17, 2025

I joined the Hobart–Cradle Mountain–Launceston day tour with Tassie Tours and had an excellent experience. Our driver-guide was very professional and kind, driving over 10 hours and still keeping everyone comfortable. He shared great insights along the way and even drove the vehicle right into the national park, which was super convenient. Despite the cloudy and rainy weather, I still saw the beautiful Cradle Mountain and some cute wombats. A very worthwhile tour - highly recommend this company!

One of the memorable trip

Excellent! Specially, our Tour Guide, Mark, was super friendly, helpful and managed the whole tour efficiently. He is knowledgeable person with lots of experiences & information. Mark also kept each and every person on the bus engaged with interacting with each one individually, throughout the tour. Instead of a boring hours-long tour, it became something where we learned while we enjoyed enormously. Kudos to Mark.
